These images remind me of warmer and less stressful days. If you’ve been following my blog you’ll know that I spent part of my holidays traveling around Switzerland. One of the stops on the trip was Basel, a less known but equally beautiful city.

Basel is Switzerland’s third most populous city (behind Zürich and Geneva). Located where the Swiss, French and German borders meet, Basel also has suburbs in France and Germany. Home to 40 museums, the city of culture for connoisseurs has the highest concentration of museums in the country.

Basel also has a beautiful Old Town, modern architecture, and the Rhine.Historic landmarks of the city include the large market square with its richly decorated red sandstone town hall.

Do you need another reason to like it? Basel is a green city. The Botanical Gardens, several parks and the banks of the Rhine are perfect places to relax and linger for a while.
