Pumpkin Fest at Half Moon Bay

If you have followed me since the begining you probably know why this blog is called Memories of the Pacific. However, lately it looks more like Memories of Switzerland. So I was thinking that a California post was long due!

So let’s get in the Hallowe’en mood, shall we? Today I want to show you the Half Moon Bay Pumpkin Festival. It is held in the coastside community of Half Moon Bay, California for one weekend during pumpkin harvest season. It is one of the oldest and largest local festivals in California. Apart from being a beautiful and entertaining event it is also a way to give back to the community since proceeds go to local civic causes.

Coming from Spain, I had never seen anything like this before. The farms decorated for this occasion with thousands of pumpkins all over the place. Adults and children alike had a great time picking the pumpkins they are going to carve. Do you have yours ready?

You can learn more about the event here.
Thanks for reading,
